March 27, 2020

Dear Valued Customer;
As you and your colleagues, as well as friends and family, work to navigate your way through the unknown waters of the COVID-19 virus, we wanted to pass on to you how QuantaLight is adjusting to the ever changing situation. We have been watching carefully since January, and as it became apparent the virus was not contained, we developed a flexible work-around plan. As a provider of quality luminaires, we are part of the construction industry supplying the commercial lighting market. In Texas, construction and related services have been deemed essential businesses and are allowed to continue to operate.

Like everyone else on the globe, our office has also been impacted. QuantaLight has made appropriate adjustments and we are fully operational. Our outside sales team began to wind down their travel in early March and now continue to operate fully from home. Also, in March we began social distancing policies in our two-story office building and warehouse. The warehouse team now has two lunch shifts (and they love the new outdoor picnic tables which allow proper distancing during lunch and breaks). Our 30-foot-high warehouse is huge – almost a block long! And with multiple freight doors open all day, and large vent fans, the warehouse gets a continuous fresh air breeze.

As of mid-March, we began to spread out our office team, with some working remotely and about 1/3 continuing at the office. For our numerous air handling units we have replaced the basic lint filters with MERV13, smog rated filters. For both office and warehouse, routine cleaning has been augmented by an ample supply of disinfecting wipes and sprays, and as an additional step we have closed our doors to non-employee visitors for the time being. Social distancing is required, and we continue to monitor local and CDC guidelines.

Our factory is keeping us updated on their status as well, and although there have been some occasional delays, at this point we don’t see any major issues. We do know that many outside suppliers have delays or shortages. For example, some driver and LED chip manufacturers have increased lead times. Shipping ports may also be impacted, so it’s feasible that we could see shipping delays, but so far, we have no reports of issues. In conclusion, lead times may increase slightly, but issues will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Overall stock is good on most items, and incoming shipments have resumed. Most importantly the factory is wearing protective gear, practicing social distancing, and is operational.

QuantaLight is fully functional and it is business as usual. Please continue reaching out to our customer service and salespeople as you normally would. Although this virus may be with us all for a while, we continue our focus on delivering high quality products, value, and excellent service. Thanks to our customers and independent lighting agents, QuantaLight continues to grow and we will emerge even stronger through this experience. Most importantly to all our partners and customers: stay safe and healthy!

Thank you for your loyalty and continued business,

Dan
